When I lived in Canada I had the Haan floor steamer as per a past recommendation from someone in this community and LOVED it! It cleaned well, was light, easy to fill/empty/maneuver and did the trick with just one button. I don't like the idea of having to press buttons in order to release steam - I want the mop to do that automatically as this one ( Read more... )

We have a GE Quiet Power dishwasher. It's about 7 yrs old and driving us crazy. It started out quiet, but now makes a rumbling noise as it runs. That we have gotten use to, but now it is beeping.  It beeps a couple of time an hour.  We've given up on it and want to replace it.

So any recommendations?

The rooms down at one end of the house tend to be humid and there's a little black mould on the inside of the curtains.

The bedroom, two bathrooms and gym are down that end.

Can anyone recommend a good de-humidifier?

One that's not too expensive to run, but works.

It's that time of year again...time to turn the furnace back on.  Drat.

I'm tired of buying the disposable filters at Home Depot for $20 a pop. Has anyone tried the washable permanent air filters like this one from Amazon?

If so: Do they seem to work well? Is washing them relatively simple? Anything else I should know about these as an alternative to ( Read more... )
